The Whiskey Rickey: A Healthy and Refreshing Cocktail

At the end of a long day we are often looking for a simple and healthy cocktail to take the edge off.  Plus as we all start to melt in this summer heat, we need something light and refreshing, no one wants to be dealing with something too heavy right now.  Especially since we have realized that alcohol is not the demon it is often portrayed as and may even have some health benefits.  However, we still want to be careful to avoid a calorie dense and sugar laden cocktail.  That is where a refreshing and delicious cocktail like the whiskey rickey comes in.  It is a simple combination of lime juice, whiskey, and club soda.  A totally sippable summer cocktail that you will want to keep coming back to.  The perfect drink for the summer, to chill out and stay healthy while you do it!


Whiskey Rickey

  • 2 Oz Whiskey
  • 1/2 Lime
  • To top Club soda


  1. Fill highball glass with ice

  2. Add the whiskey

  3. Squeeze in half a lime (or lemon) and drop it in the glass

  4. Add club soda to top

  5. Stir and enjoy
